You are the adorable person who sat across from me on the bus and then across from me at the Dyke and Trans March. Were we making eye contact? I genuinely can’t tell! My vision is very bad! Either way to you and anyone else who was there, thank goodness for you and your fabulous queer selves. Thank you for creating that community space and for giving me the opportunity to unapologetically dream and chant and ogle. I hope you went home dreaming of a marvelous future and the ways you’ll fight for it. Don’t lose any of that hope or that bitterness. And if you see me again, please say hi!

What a great treat to see a pipe band in the Pride parade. Thanks, guys. Every parade in Nova Scotia needs a pipe band, eh!

To the shark-suited guitar-playing guy and his amazing entourage on Inglis Street on Bluenose marathon Sunday: thank you! Your singing and dancing gave me a well-needed boost to climb that hill during the marathon. It cheered me up for several kilometres and I still smile just thinking about it! You guys rock!

To the bus driver who was dressed as Wonder Woman on Halloween, you're the hero Gotham needs. You're a goddess. You're also the best driver in the city, bus or no bus. Keep on being awesome! —A-bus ride smoother than an invisible jet

Government should do its best to live within its means.

Hopefully now those in a position of authority will also make a determined effort to reform MLA pensions.  Since the chief criteria is affordability, and since the MLA pension plan would be considered by most Nova Scotianers to be unaffordable,  it is time to revisit this issue.  We now know that objective third party panels reviewing compensation issues in the public sector are no longer seen as necessary or legitimate so the work done by that previous panel can now be placed aside.

If MLAs were treated like ordinary public sector workers on their pensions it could result in a saving of millions which could be used to help provide funding for additional supports for disabled children in the educational system.  As a number of the senior people in the Government already have another public sector pension from other jobs that they have done, it should cause minimum economic distress. —Keep up the work guys

It was your birthday. I saw you step up to sing at an open mic on Argyle Street on Tuesday. When you started singing, you silenced the room full of rowdies and drunk musicians. Your soft voice and presence floored me and everyone else in the room. I don't know if you sing professionally, but you made a room full of fans that night and kicked off at least one crush. —NumberOneFan
