This morning, I was walking behind a guy down Tower road to South Street. Every morning I cross the same crosswalk at the intersection of Tower and South and it is by FAR the worst crosswalk to get through. The guy ahead of me by a few steps in the crosswalk was almost struck by a woman who was obviously (head tilted so far down she couldn't even look over her sunglasses to see the road) texting a driving. He could have reached out and smacked her window.
I see many bad drivers who don't yield to pedestrians already in this crosswalk and some even speed up to try and get around the pedestrians on the shoulder. It is an absolute disgrace considering it is a common walking route during the day and also beside the VG. Seriously people, stop being so stupid and putting pedestrian lies in danger! Get off your f*cking phones and realise that the extra .1 seconds you think you save by speeding through a crosswalk is not worth someone's life. —Pissed Off Pedestrian

You’re on my bus every morning when I get on at Highfield. With your short hair and velcro and cargo pants you look like a militaristic narrow-minded bigot. You never interact with any other riders and are always reading books that glorify war. This morning, you’re reading about the Commandant of Auschwitz and that really scared me. There’s no place for neo-nazis on public transit so please take a later bus.

To the crew of crust punks walking down Harvard Street Sunday afternoon:
You trampled my lawn, trespassed down the side of my house and dropped a huge bag of three large dogs’ waste in my compost bin. Your green plastic bag is not biodegradable and your dogs’ feces doesn't go into HRM's organic waste system. If you can't manage to be responsible for a bag of shit, please don't own three dogs. —I Left The Bag On The Curb For You

To the twat that posted last week (Menstruator): I'm sorry to inform you, you're sadly mistaken. Talking about something as personal, and private, as that is not appropriate dinner conversation in a public place. Maybe next time I'm out I should bring up how my last prostate exam went—how I so enjoyed getting finger-fucked by my doctor with cold digits and the lube just kinda stuffed up my rectum the rest of the day. Pass. Keep splatter off the chatter. —40-Year-Old Vegan

It seems like nobody is managing Halifax Transit. I've been on at least five buses with non-functioning “stop request” signs. So I can't tell if the driver is aware that he has to stop. On today's bus, I pushed the button and nothing happened—no bell, no sign. I was at the back of an extended bus and had to push my way to the driver. I'm going to get a loud whistle and if the driver misses my stop, I'll blow it loudly. If someone has a heart attack because of the shock, so be it. I'm creating a website to help people complain about the crappy service. Names and emails to contact. One driver didn't really care, he said it's just the new system. They should at least say they'll report it. Sorry, I pay my taxes and you're to maintain the bus system. Do you have someone on staff to come up with ideas for poor services? Maybe a third-world anarchist????

In response to "Sexism and sushi don't flow" by the lovely "Menstruator".. As a female, I don't see why you feel the need to talk about your period at a restaurant. People are eating, it's just common courtesy. Of course it's a normal thing that happens but you have to recognize that there is a time and a place.. and it isn't while people are eating raw fish.

I understand the need for protection for victims of sexual assault and the need for a safe space in the music community. I also understand that in the wake of the (disgusting) Ghomeshi trial verdict, that there is momentum for these women to be heard. I am in full favour of all of that.
I am not in favour of secret vigilante justice. I am not in favour of ‘blacklists’ that potentially ruin innocent peoples lives. There is a reason we have a justice system and don’t let vigilantes run amok. Because people will act based on hearsay and rumours, not on facts. I understand that the justice system thus far has not been satisfactory in the treatment of these cases. The response to this should be to work towards fixing our justice system so that these people are heard and respected. To open discussion, to act with actual justice.
Like many women, I too have been a target of sexual assault. I do not wish my perpetrators harm. And I certainly would not wish any of them to be submitted to any punishment without trial, or without knowledge of what they are accused of, by whom.
Can we please stop with all the secrecy, the back-stabbing, the blacklisting targeted musicians and just talk already? —The girl who "doesn't even go here"

Ah, yet another fucking lifestyle boutique. When will we lower our pretentious noses enough to look around and notice that sustainable living DOES NOT equal overpriced, exclusive bullshit clothing/food/insert-daily-need-here. These if-you-didn't-instagram-your-avocado-pudding-did-you-really-eat-avocado-pudding assholes are shining examples of what self-serving privilege and general ignorance looks like. Look at these places in the context of the communities they've sat themselves in - totally oblivious to the poverty, racial segregation and addiction all around them. But hey - the rent is cheap. Say it with me, "gentrification". So many BC imports turned Nova Scotia yogis whoring I Love Local. Now - I don't actually care where you're from. But before you sit your pretentious boutique two blocks away from a starving community fraught with all of the social issues that NS loves to ignore, do your fucking research. Look no further than their websites to see a half-online store/half-READ ABOUT OUR OWNER/OUR STORY/LOOK AT ME ME ME I'M SUCH A GREAT PERSON. It's repulsive. The people who run these places are condescending as hell. They're extremely judgemental and pretentious. They're wolves in sheep's clothing. They ARE the problem. You wan't to make conscious, sustainable living the norm? You ACTUALLY care? Try making it at all accessible. More like "Oxymoron of the Moment". Looking forward to sitting back and watching another stuck up, self-serving fail.

You had no right to be rude and snobby to my friend after he made a mistake on a very difficult climb. This gym is an excellent addition to the community and 99 percent of the climbers there are friendly and supportive, regardless of their skill level. You are part of the unfortunate one percent that are snobby, mean and impatient who make me and other less-skilled climbers feel uncomfortable and inadequate. If you want to be a jerk when you go climbing, maybe you should do wilderness bouldering so that no one has to deal with your attitude problem.
