Sick of commemorating special moments with lame pictures and uncomfortable- looking poses (like that grad pic where youre inexplicably pointing at your chin)? Semi-new business Blue Vine Photography wants to help you fill your living room walls with better photos. Blue Vine, owned by local photographer Jenine Dowden, actually opened last June, but failed to get a Shoptalk shout-out. Why try Blue Vine? Im offering a lot of flexibility within my business, says Dowden, who likes capturing moments between people that are genuine...so that when you look at an image, youre looking more at what you were feeling at the time, than what you were wearing. For example, if Dowdens doing a family portrait, shell let kids play in the backyard or a favourite park during the shoot. Really, its all about capturing the family as they are, she says. Located on Walter Havill Drive, Blue Vine shoots family portraits, wedding photography, grad photos, professional headshots and more, and offers affordably priced sitting fees, photo packages and photography products. Dowden is already taking bookings for the 2008 wedding season. Learn more at bluevine.ca.
