Ryan Duffy’s Steak & Seafood will be making the move from 5640 Spring Garden to the old East Side Mario’s space on Bedford Row “on or about April 15,” says Damian Byrne, CEO of the Landmark Hospitality Group, which owns the steakhouse. And steak-lovers won’t be Duffyless for long: “We will literally close one day, and open the next day in the new location,” says Byrne. Why move? The prospect of partnering with the Radisson Suite Hotel was mighty attractive, says Byrne, as was the opportunity to move from “second-story Spring Garden to first-story Bedford Row.” Once the move takes place, Duffy’s will provide the Radisson’s room service and cater its banquets. The restaurant will also unveil a new breakfast menu, featuring “all the things you’d expect from a high-end steakhouse, except breakfast,” and they plan to start dry-aging their own beef onsite. Sadly, the restaurant’s now-closed upstairs bar The Speakeasy won’t be part of the move. No word yet on the new owner of the current Duffy’s space, but several buyers have shown “fairly serious interest,” shares Byrne. Please note: if some gallant hero wants to scoop up the space and start a rep cinema there, I’ll give them a hug and a peanut butter sandwich.
