Galleria (2202 Gottigen) officially called it a day on September 30. Owner Victoria Raine, who also owns and operates Hilltribe (1729 Barrington), is currently in Bali on a buying trip for more clothing for the Barrington location. Husband and wife team Aaron Adams and Kate Rankin stock odds and ends that reflect their own interests, including Frankenstein hairclips and zombie belt buckles. The shop is vegan friendly; all make up and hair dye products are animal free. That means leather is also out, but there is an array of vegan belts and wristbands. Halloween sales and the possibility of a costume contest ensue. Catch some of Fashionably Dead's clothing on local models at Masq---Halifax's monthly exotic masquerade party October 31 at the Olympic Community Centre (2304 Hunter)... Propeller Brewery (2015 Gottigen) has just brewed 30 hectolitres of Autumn's drink of choice, Propeller's Pumpkin Ale. "We use Howard Dill's pumpkins, the guy who makes world class pumpkins and the annual pumpkin festival out in Windsor," says Rob Poirier, director of sales and marketing. Also the brewery pre-launches their seasonal Propeller Pilsner October 17... Owner Chara Kingston of Love, Me Boutique celebrates her shop's first birthday October 18...Correction: last week Shoptalk gave the wrong address for Shameless Body Jewels, which is actually at 3032 Oxford. The local shop is chockfull of plugs, tunnels, barbells, bones and circulars. Go on, fill your holes...
