Started by publicist, fundraising dynamo and former Skatepark Coalition president Jacquie Thillaye, Biz Bounce is a monthly meeting for small business owners to bounce ideas around with other small business owners. The first meeting was in May and was a success, with about 20 people attending.

“I wanted to get one under my belt before I really got the word out there,” says Thillaye, who facilitates the evening and brings her own business to bear, Shape Communications, which offers event management, communications services and skills development. “It went pretty well.”

Thillaye says Biz Bounce isn’t as much a networking opportunity---the last meeting had only a single business duplication, because two software engineers arrived together---as it is a chance to problem-solve and compare notes. “Essentially it’s up to you what concerns you want to discuss.” The second meeting takes place Wednesday, June 17 from 7:00-8:30 at The Hub (1673 Barrington Street, 2nd floor). A $5.00 contribution toward the space and snacks is appreciated. You can find Biz Bounce on Facebook, or contact Jacquie Thillaye at 240-6661.
