Halloween is, hands down, the best holiday we have. I won't stand for any argument here.

The Marquee is capitalizing by hosting two masquerade balls. Gypsophilia play on Friday, October 26, and Hey Rosetta!, Down With The Butterfly, Tomcat Combat and The Jesuit hold it down on Saturday, October 27 (check ticketpro.com for both shows). Costume contests abound on Wednesday, October 31 with Tribeca's Breakout featuring DJ Double Dutch from Ottawa and Calgary's Harvey Wallbanger satisfying your mash-up needs. Taking Back Wednesdays promises to reward your homemade Krang suit with prizes, 10pm at the Marquee with DJs Johnston Farrow, Gordski and a special guest. Halloween night at Reflections is bursting at the seams with cover bands, but not like "Brown Eyed Girl" covers. Revel in BloodBath (horror music tribute), Luvhaus (Bauhaus tribute), a Joy Division tribute with A/V and a tribute to The Damned. Gus' Pub can handle your zebra unicorn gang outfits, as long as you can handle War Pony, The Dirty Poets and What's He Building In There.

In conclusion, please don't dress like a "slutty" anything. Do it for dad.

Don’t make papa preach, send your musical news to scene@thecoast.ca
