Fast Times, a new monthly series that promises to be the MuchPunch of all events, starts up this Thursday, October 25 at the Marquee Club (10pm, $5 advance at Krisp Clothing or $7 at the door). A night of mash-ups, bands and art; this month features Team Canada DJs (Montreal), Ruby Jean and the Thoughtful Bees, DJs Double A and Tony Hage, and an exhibition featuring graphic artists Co. & Co. facing off against Yo Rodeo!. Put together by Brett McDermott, Jenner Berger and Aaron Siegner (AKA DJ Double A), the event brings together different artistic communities in the area and appeal to a wide audience.

"We think this sort of multimedia idea works for one pretty simple reason—variety of interest." Siegner says. "There's just more going on at one spot, with a more interesting cross-section of people involved and participating. There's really nothing more stimulating than exposure to other people's creative energies, that's so much a part of what this night's all about." McDermott, Berger and Siegner promise a wide variety of international acts to come in the future, but are keeping tight-lipped at the moment.

"We have some things in the works regarding DJs and possible live acts from abroad we're working to bring in, but I really can't say anything more than that for now," says Siegner. "We're really particular about who we're interested in having here, and we're not really looking to just have whoever is on tour at any given moment. We have a wish list, and we're working on it."
