Nostalgia hour

Like kool-aid in my hair

Halifax likes to feel as if it has special ties with Sub Pop, seeing as how some of the New Seattle bands of the mid-90s were signed to the venerable Original Seattle label. (Related: How many times can this hack say "Seattle" in two days?) So we think you'll be just chuffed to virtually line up for the April 26 onsale for the 20th anniversary party Sub Pop is hosting on July 12 and 13 in Marymoor Park, WA.

Confirmed acts include stars of yesteryear and today like Mudhoney, Low, Beachwood Sparks, Iron and Wine, The Helio Sequence, Flight of the (eeeee!) Conchords, new upstarts Fleet Foxes, worst band name of 08 Pissed Jeans, and Wolf Parade, about whom we can muster only indifference and wonder how it is so many bands get by with such shitty vocalists.

But the real indie kids grandparents are freaking out about the reunion of Green River, which featured pre-stardom Mark Arm, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament. Tickets go live April 26 at and, surprisingly, Ticketmaster. TT
