Hell Freezes Over afterparty tonight at Gus' Pub!

You haven't had enough beer and metal, right?

Because of my computer troubles, this is posted too late, but as any loyal Scene and Heard reader will know, it was published Thursday in the newspaper. Remember papers? Those dry, fluttery things that make your fingers dirty?

What you really need to know is that the Hell Freezes Over afterparty is tonight.

Say this in your best monster truck rally announcer voice: THIS WINTER, AT GUS’ PUB… HELL! FREEZES! OVER!! But seriously folks! Hell Freezes Over is the first of an annual metal festival, a winter addendum to Thrashfest, if you will. Organizer, performer and Gus’ Pub bartender extraordinaire Myron Cottreau asks for you to “help us ring in the new decade in a grand orchestra of brutality and success.”

The orchestra begins Friday January 29 with North End Metal All Stars, Thy Flesh Consumed, Orchid’s Curse, Spew, Burnt Church and Ignightor and continues Saturday with Hellacaust, Fistfight, Terratomb, Novichok, Napalm Raid and Hate Division. (advance passes available from Rock Candy Boutique. Doors open 8pm/$10 per night/$20 advance pass)

“The response so far has been wonderful. The buzz going around amongst the metal scene is great and all the band members seem to be more than ecstatic to be a part of this event.”

I am ecstatic about the metal brunch on Sunday: 80s metal cover bands ($5 which includes breakfast, free to weekend pass holders) and check out this adorable menu: Suicide Scrambled Eggs, Hellish Hash Blacks and Satan's Sausage served Evil or Demonic (hot).

“There will be mountains of door prizes and giveaways as well as Hell Freezes Over T-shirts for sale provided by www.rockworldeast.com and hoards of bands selling their own merch,” says Cottreau. “There will also be an after party on Sunday at Gus' Pub called Hell Thaws out.”
