Folkerson says the show features “a diverse range of artists with very different artistic practices; the show encompasses painting, drawing, sculpture, performance, survey and chocolate.”
RECORD SCRATCH. As a lady, I can attest to how frequently ladies be trippin’ over chocolate. Carey Jernigan’s piece---titled Happiness Chocolate---features an artist residence in the gallery to Saturday (12-1pm). “In the pursuit of happiness, I started to make chocolates,” says Jernigan. “And when I learned about a plant that also makes people happy, I added it to the mix.” Now we let much conjecture fly as to what the plant in question is.
Don’t skimp on the preening, as Jernigan intends to “record the facial expressions of visitors to the gallery who agree to try them.” Jernigan intends on compiling the photos in a blog and maybe a book. So look nice.
