Lovely and talented jazz pop (pop jazz?) singer Nikki Yanofsky tours to Halifax in support of her upcoming album, Little Secret, which, not for nothing, Quincy Jones "guided." I don't know what that means but I'm assuming he gave it the Midas touch. The album—to be released later this year—is described as poppy, with sophisticated harmonies, club beats, big-band horns and scat singing solos. It may well be the soundtrack to holiday shopping 2014, so prepare for that now.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, October 10 at 12pm. Tickets for the Halifax show range from $41.00 - $54.50 (including tax and applicable surcharge) and are available at the Dalhousie Arts Centre Box Office (6101 University Ave), by phone at (902) 492-3820 or 1-800-874-1669 and online at artscentre.dal.ca, evenko.ca and livenation.com.
Yanofsky performs with special guests at the Rebecca Cohn auditorium on Monday, January 19, doors at 7pm, show at 8pm. Open to all ages.
