Leanne Hoffman has been out on the road in support of her solo debut What Remains, which dropped May 10—produced by Erin Costelo, it's the first release on Costelo's new label Venue Records. Today we've got the premiere of the brand-new Mirror Image Media-produced clip for "If I Leave Town," a string-laden mournful ballad, that finds her pensively walking around on a cold Halifax night.

"This song was a post-breakup collection of all the things you wonder about after a relationship ends. Specifically, will that person remember all the things we shared, will they miss me and would they notice if I left?" says Hoffman. "It felt fitting to shoot the video in the streets of the city the relationship took place in, which has also been my home for the past eight years. It’s about being afraid to be left behind, and to leave that person behind."

Hoffman gives What Remains the hometown release on May 30 at The Carleton. Tide yourself over for the next week with the new video right here.
