"You have no business throwing out the poor card while you buy Starbucks (or Roll up the Rims), lottery tickets, smoke cigarettes or pay interest on your credit card."

And what if we don't do any of that but still think the toll is ridiculous? Especially if you live/work in the area. That becomes a $40/week cost at least, or close to $2,000 a year. Not exactly chump change for most families.

I still say a Jersey barrier down the road would accomplish the same thing but cost a fraction of what is proposed. Add in passing lanes where necessary down the line if the existing one aren't enough.

    Re: “Educate Your Kids
@Rubyjaye, your comment did not for far enough. They have a BEd to get in the door. Then once in they get MSc's and or PHd's (a total of 3) just so they can have the highest pay grade. Never mind that these extra designations may or may not make them a better teacher or be useful in their teachables (not really a word, but the educators use the term) so long as the degree is "recognized" and gives them the bump.

I'll save my $38. I don't doubt the steak was cooked well but but to have only a small potato and a strip of veggies seems cheap on their part. Also, where is the color? Throw some red/orange pepper or asparagus or even string beans....
And, cut the steak next time so we can see the cook (and would add some color too!)

You don't need Frank Mag to see the teachers salaries. Just google HRSB salaries (or go here: http://www.hrsb.ca/about-hrsb/financial-se…) and you will find the full list including names, position, school.... And when you look at the grand total, remember this is just one school board.

I'll support the teachers money issues when they start teaching again and assigning homework and issue tests/quizzes. The current norm of coloring and overcomplicating everything is just ludicrous and it is no wonder our kids are stupid as fuck now. Also, not failing kids is clearly not working out.

Your math is a wee bit off: 16 months out of the 60 month sentence is 27%. I can't comment on anything else because I did not hear about this. Can you post a link to the story?

At least I am not the only one thinking that way. They lost my support when the union leader came out saying contradicting things. It's not about the money, it is workload/conditions. Then later on, two of the points they want to address are salary increase and keeping the service award. There was even a letter from a teacher in the LocalXpress, first two points are award/salary: https://www.localxpress.ca/opinions/open-l…
Enough with the BS, all I am asking is for honesty/transparency (I know, pipeline dream....)
Isn't getting a pension good enough? And while the lot of the teachers will say they fully fund it; no employer contribution: BS. There have been a few instances where the province threw in money to top up the fund, these were in the hundreds of millions

Or maybe try the easy fix of working the lights. Have only 1 road have a green at a time on a quick enough rotation, similar to the light pattern at Chain Lake Drive/highway 102. If after some time the morons are still causing accidents, then proceed with the 10 million dollar fix?
