This industry is on such a roll - growing and creating the very jobs and far-reaching spinoffs throughout the province that Nova Scotia need to survive, thrive and compete in the global economy. Chopping the tax credit is just plain foolhardy by the Liberals, without full consideration of the severe and devastating consequences to the film industry and all the many businesses that this industry supports (hotels, restaurants, facility & equipment rentals, post-production houses, graphic designers, caterers, etc.). Didn't the Liberals read the Ivany report? These jobs, while not high-paying for the most part, attract and retain talented innovative and engaged citizens . Such jobs ARE the future, and should not be impulsively relegated by the Liberals to quickly becoming a thing of the past. This industry will not be able to rebuild, it will be gone, gone forever if the government proceeds. Liberals: please care enough about this province to re-assess and change your mind; now that you know have had time to consider the implications of this. We depend on our government to make sage decisions based on ALL the facts. Now that you have them....Fix. this. now.
