in Sociology of Deviance in university in the 1980s they told us that soldiers, police and ambulance workers have high spouse abuse rates because they take their stress home with them. They also have high divorce rates.

    This isn't news.

how about using kitty litter while we're at it.
salt works; at least it used to until some people started declaring it doesn't.

I am now wondering why city councillors vote on developments. Doesn't the city have zoning categories for land, architects and civil engineers on staff? Doesn't it have a city plan to govern these proposals? Seems strange.

So city council debated about garbage bags. I suppose it's easier than planning for the 3rd bridge, implementing public transit, widening Bayers Road, burying power cables, establishing a municipal power plant that doesn't run on coal, ensuring there is parking downtown instead of destroying parking spaces, coaxing the city to move its downtown core away from a peninsula (San Diego moved its downtown almost a century ago), encouraging the use of smaller cars & trucks (like Kei format in Japan) and motorcycles (e.g. mopeds), or even having an effective snow removal strategy where people's vehicles don't get destroyed in their driveways, or replacing the useless amber street lights with ones that actually light crosswalks properly. But, I am grateful that they did not spend months debating chickens and eggs, or even worse, cat licensing. We must be grateful for the small things.

According to the entry in wikipedia, originally "black Pete" was white or black, and was actually a devil forced by St. Nicholas to do good. Things changed over the centuries, but Black Pete works for St. Nick, essentially. So, Santa Claus is racist. By extension, so are everyone who like the Santa Claus tradition and gift giving.

Time to go back to celebrating the birthday of Sol Invictus on Dec. 25th, people.

there should be a plan to get people out of the peninsula, you can't cram a city into a corner like that, it's bad planning.
