I realized during the University years I could do the "best" type of travel ,ie. live in a place other than home. I was fortunate, I found out that if you could work with horses you could get immediate 7 day per week work anywhere there is horseracing. One summer I spent in Vancouver, another in Montreal and another in Fort Erie and Toronto - always busy, always employed - travelling and having a good time.
When you graduate and become career oriented, it is difficult to take the time for this type of travel. I learned a lot about this great country by living and working with the people in different parts of it.
