I’m paranoid about stress-related breakouts. Leading up to my wedding day how can I prepare my skin to look its very best?
Water, water, water! So important. Staying hydrated is number one. Breakouts usually happen—most women are under a lot of stress the final days leading up to the wedding. If a breakout were to happen, the worst thing to do is to pick or pop. Sleep, water and trying your best to eat properly are the best things for your skin. Also, don’t try any new skin regimes—now is not the time to be experimenting things on your skin as you don’t know how it’s going to react. Especially anything with an oil base!
I want to have a bold look on my wedding day, but still look like myself. What are some ways to glam up my regular, everyday make-up without going overboard?
My job is to enhance your natural beauty not to make you look totally different (unless you request that!). Choose one feature you would like to enhance, like eyes or lips, and then let’s amp that look up a bit more from a normal day you’d wear make-up. A light smoky eye is often just enough to make a bride look more glamourized.
What are some tips for keeping my wedding-day make-up intact through tears and sweat without having to be constantly touching up?
I use setting sprays that ensure everything is on lock down! They prevent the make-up from moving through tears, sweat and humidity for 16 hours. The biggest compliment I’ve heard was, “I slept in my makeup and I looked just as good as I did the morning before!” What I don’t recommend is applying more powder over top as throughout the day it will become cakey and darker. And remember to dab tears, not wipe!
If you could suggest three make-up items for the bride to keep in her clutch the day-of, what would they be?
Lipstick or gloss, translucent pressed powder and a few Q-Tips for touching up areas that need to be fixed.
What are the biggest make-up trends and styles you’re seeing brides ask for now?
Vintage, whimsical, romantic, soft and natural is all the rage right now. Soft pink lips with a bronzed and champagne or pink lid or berry stained or matte berry lips with a nude lid and eyeliner.
