For those who’ve been gnawing their fingers bloody waiting for something as compulsive as Angry Birds, a new edition is now available. Bummer then that this version of the game is tied to the 20th Century Fox animated movie Rio, out April 15, and there are no smug porkers in sight. Instead our pissed-off poultry’s aim is to release exotic parrots from their cages. It’s a rescue mission, and though the basic rules are still in place, it’s less fun without the loathsome hogs to crush. Later there are monkeys, irritating but not hateful. And anyone who honed their bird-flinging skills to three-star greatness might find this one less of a challenge. Still, updates are expected in May, July, October and November, so future levels may be more worthy of the furious fowl.
