Anything Goes

When: Nov. 4-21 2009

Dartmouth Players has assembled a stellar cast for its production of Anything Goes. This play is filled with some of Cole Porter’s most memorable tunes (like “You’re the Top” and “I get a Kick Out of You”) and they require some fine voices to sing them. Shannon Kelly (who plays nightclub chanteuse Reno) definitely has the pipes, as does Paolo Bozac. In fact, there doesn’t appear to be a weak voice in the entire 24-person cast---a miracle for amateur theatre! There are also some pretty fine comedic actors---Ian MacDermid as Moonface Martin, Lyndsey Anderson as Bonnie and Calum MacLean as Sir Evelyn Oakleigh are real standouts, but again, the rest of the cast are simply fantastic, too. That’s not to say this is a perfect production, there are a few problems with energy and pacing, but you’ll definitely leave laughing and humming. –Kate Watson
