Set in the dramatic, alluring landscape of Canada’s North, Halifax filmmaker John Walker’s latest film begins in 1968 with the radical Inuit movement that changed the political landscape forever. Young visionary Inuit orchestrated the largest land claim in western civilization and achieved governance of their territory when Nunavut was created 15 years ago (April 1, 1999). The film reveals the dark side of Canada’s attempt at Northern sovereignty while finding hope and inspiration from determined Inuit. John Walker will be on hand for a Q & A.
