Special Event

When: Thu., Oct. 15, 9:30 p.m. 2009

The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia is throwing a contemporary art fundraiser Thursday night, and has been keeping the party's location under wraps for weeks. Time to wonder no more: The art bash will take place in the Roy Building, the former Dooly's haunt, shortly after the Sobey Art Award presentations. Kelly McGuire, the AGNS's acting manager, assures us that Starfish Properties has put in the elbow grease to make the space look the part of an AGNS late-night party (and not a billiard hall). Music from Pastoralia (Mitchell Wiebe, Rebecca Young and Ray Fenwick, who will also create artwork for the evening aside from the musical kind) and art-inspired food by the Hamachi Group are just a few of the entertainment plans that will dazzle you with arty goodness the minute those Starfish Properties window covers are torn down. –Holly Gordon

Price: $50 (available at the door)
