…As a Man Thinketh pops up

Rod Malay’s photos, sculptures, paintings and musings have made a usually empty Gottigen Street address worth visiting.

Oh hey, Rod Malay.

Stepping into Galleria Unplugged in sort of like plunging into Rod Malay's mind. The Gottingen Street space, which you'd normally walk by without noticing, has been transformed into a perfect little gallery for the time being, thanks to the local artist. With paintings, photos, sculptures and random objects in every corner (including the entire ceiling) it is like being inside a prism of sorts. Malay accurately describes ...As a Man Thinketh as a phase of his art journey, and with no shortage of topics explored (religion, fantasy, gold, media icons, environmental degradation and more) the exhibit is an entrancing trip. Feast your eyes on the beautiful "Pandora's Box," write your feelings on "The Wall," check out the discarded garments of Malay's fantasy woman (she's got style) and maybe, if you're lucky, you'll be treated to a poetry reading from the artist himself.

To Sep 16, Galleria Unplugged, 2166 Gottigen St, Tue-Sun 11am-7pm
