“I never thought in a million years that in 2011 I’d be talking to people about turntables every day of my life,” says Peak’s Chris Sweet. “There aren’t many days of the year I don’t touch one.” But he’s okay with that. Working in the store that one voter called “audiophile bliss” he’s used to making audio simple and sometimes hands-free for people, so the influx of interest in records helps keep things interesting. “I like everything that isn’t about pure convenience,” says Sweet. “Anything that makes people stop, be mindful and awake.”
