Best Canadian Solo Female

Feist

Last year we caught up with Feist before her Halifax show at the Metro Centre. She wrote us an email sitting at a small white desk, while surrounded by her journal, a Steinbeck book, duct tape, a bag of Arctic vegetation, whiskey flask, a phone bill and lotion. Not only has the singer become a recognized Canadian treasure like the canoe or the otter, what you might not know is that Feist donates all the profits from her merch sales to charity, and promotes food bank donations at her shows. “A very small thing can make a very big difference,” she writes.
