Picnicface throws a proverbial pie-in-the-face into the Halifax comedy scene with their packed-out improv Sunday nights at Gingers. But don’t think Kyle Dooley, Mark Little and friends are relying on yer pop’s ancient stand-up techniques. “We’re younger and we write to a younger sensibility. It’s both progressive and ridiculous,” says Little. A typical show rates high on the absurdity meter, mixing sketches, improv and video, such as the far-from-scary “Monster Rap,” directed by Andrew Bush---“I don’t even know how funny it really is, but it’s a solid parody,” laughs Dooley about the Batcrew. No, it’s hilarious.
