In December, Chives Canadian Bistro celebrated its 10th anniversary, and its 250,000th customer. By either measure, the restaurant has been a huge success, also recognized by Coast readers who have regularly anointed the eatery with laurels, three this year—including Best Fine Dining and Best Use of Local Ingredients—not to mention running-up in the categories of Best Restaurant and Best Wine list. Much of the credit for the restaurant can be taken by Flinn, who along with being a star in the Halifax food firmament, is also known nationally for his cookbooks.
