Best Chowder

Gold Winner Esquire Restaurant

Silver Winner Gahan House

Bronze Winner 2 Doors Down

“Well, it’s the best!” says Gerard Avery, laughing when he’s asked what makes the Esquire’s creamy bowls of seafood chowder the best around. For the Bedford Highway diner, the best means making it fresh, daily and keeping its quality consistent—simple as that. “It’s a recipe we’ve played around with. We just sat around and tried chowders for several days, and it’s the one we went back to.” Plus, its popularity means it’s never sitting around for long. “We’re selling it like Esquire chowder!” says Avery.
