If you haven’t had a cinnamon roll from Mary’s Bread Basket, particularly one early on a Saturday morning at the market as you juggle the sweet in one hand and a coffee in the other, then you really haven’t lived. Or you are least missing out on something good. “Saturday’s our busiest day,” says baker Ashley Murphy. “We must sell at least a couple hundred there. On our busiest day last year we sold over a thousand.” It’s popular all through the week, too, she says, but there’s just something about that Saturday morning cinnamon roll experience.
