Nachos are arguably the quintessential pub food, and seasoned nibblers picked the Economy Shoe Shop as the place that dishes out the ultimate plate. “It’s the cheese I tell you, the cheese!” laughs kitchen manager Stephen King. “We use lots and lots of cheese, and the people just love it. You never get a plate back in the kitchen that hasn’t been picked clean.” On a brisk night, King says that as many as 150 plates of nachos are flying around the joint. “I’d say it’s definitely the most popular finger food item on the menu.”
