By the time you read this, the popular central Halifax Victorian green space will be closed to the public. For some reason the gardens’ meditative beauty, inspiring Haligonians for 140 years, can only be appreciated from May 1 until October 31. Quiet strolling, hand-holding, enjoying a reflective moment in the centre of our urban landscape, and we can only do this when its warm and the flora is in bloom? Hardly seems fair. And what of those winter weddings? They don’t get to take their photos in the snowy wonderland that must exist behind those enormous iron gates?
