By now, the folks at eyecandy SIGNS should have their own trophy case filled with Best of awards, since they’re consistently making the signs that dominate this category. As for this year’s surprise winner that dethroned Venus Envy, J&R Grimsmo’s gorgeous navy and yellow, gold-detailed sign always garners a second look. Inspired by old-world elegance, Jessy Lacourciere and Rachel Grant thought a lot about their sign and logo. “Rachel and I looked at old French wine labels. We were thinking of old Paris, old europe, other old world emblems. We wanted something timeless,” says Lacourciere. Katie Sexton of Overdog Design channelled their ideas into the elegantly ornate logo, which was handed off to eyecandy, and the rest is history.
