The Canteen and its take-out sibling, Little C, are known for the sandwiches and Reneé Lavallée says its the house-made bread that makes the difference. With a rotating selection (with seasonally returning faves like the crobster roll), The Canteen/Little C’s roots as a sandwich counter are firmly planted. “We’re known for sloppy sandwiches,” says Lavallée. “The sloppier the better.”
