Calling the Italian Gourmet a fast food joint doesn’t do it justice, though the food is served up quickly and it won’t cost you an arm and a leg. “It’s just really convenient,” says Gourmet server Geoffrey Pye. “But it’s more home-made than fast food.” Anything that’s available to eat in is available to take out—sandwiches, soups and lasagnas—although Pye says the sandwiches are probably the more popular take-away items. Its handy downtown location probably doesn’t hurt either.
