Beta Band
The Best of
(EMI)
Do you remember in High Fidelity when John Cusack holds up a CD and tells one of his socially inept clerks to watch as he sells five copies just by playing it? The band he was talking about was the Beta Band, the CD, a fantastic release called Three Eps that turned the group into indie gods in the late ’90s. The Beta Band has toured the world and released two more albums since then, but nothing they have recorded has ever come close to the music from that first CD. Unfortunately for those who had their hopes up, this release is just an ill-advised cash grab. The package includes a live concert recorded in London in November of 2004, but unfortunately what they did best, they did in the studio. Buy Three Eps.
