Book tour bevvies

Tis the season to be a mall-rat, but your next retail retreat might not be about the shopping 'cause David Sedaris is coming to a mall near you! The always revealing and hilarious author, humorist and wordsmith extraordinaire will be at the Chapters Dartmouth on Wednesday promoting his new book Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk Here are some nearby watering holes for your Sedaris warm-up or cool-down. (See page 36 for info). –Allison Saunders

Mic Mac Bar & Grill
Sip on a frothy pint of draught and bask in the only night of the week that spaghetti finds its way onto this Dartmouth institution's menu. With or without meatballs and coupled with garlic bread, your belly will be filled for under 10 bucks.
217 Waverley Road, 434-7600

Colby Ale House
Bide some time snacking here because as it turns out, a visit from David Sedaris isn't the only great thing happening in
Dartmouth on's Schnitzel Night! This stick-to-your ribs meal should be washed down with a cold drink, or many---happy hour lasts until 6pm.
920 Cole Harbour Road, 435-5148

Eastside Mario's
Not only is this the sole spot on mall premises to get a stiff drink, but for the oh-so-dedicated Sedaris fans this is the closest place to have a pre-show bevvy. Waiting patiently with half-priced appies and a 32-ounce "thunder-mug" of beer in the mall is the book tour equivalent of camping out for concert tickets.
Mic Mac Mall, 21 Mic Mac Boulevard, 460-3800
