Cake
Rarities and B-Sides
Capricorn
Cake made a name for themselves with their unique blend of jazz, country, rap and pop music, but also for their quirky cover tunes (“War Pigs” and “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love to Town” appear here). This California band’s career dates back to the early ’90s with their debut Motorcade of Generosity, but most people are familiar with Cake’s hit singles “Short Skirt, Long Jacket” and “Never There.” Rarities and B-Sides is not an album for the masses since this one is aimed squarely at the legions of loyal Cake fans. But even for fans, this album may start to grind on your nerves once you get past the initial spin.
