City and Colour playing Halifax Jazz Festival July 14

Tix on sale Friday so save your scissors and your pennies.

The TD Halifax Jazz Festival and Sonic Concerts have teamed up for the first time to bring folk superstar–and former member of Alexisonfire–City and Colour to Hali just in time for Jazz Fest's 30th anniversary.

Despite being most decidedly un-jazzy, City and Colour (real name Dallas Green-get it?) is a huge act and he's been hitting international audiences right in the feels since his debut album, Sometimes, hit the shelves in 2005.

Green's star has risen astronomically as a solo artist–he's racked up three Juno Awards, dropped five killer solo albums and a collaborative album with Pink. Considering Alexisonfire's uncertain future, Green will likely continue to hold his own.

Tickets are $55 and will go on sale Friday, February 12 at 10am. They'll be available through both the Halifax Jazz Festival and Sonic Concerts sites.
