Directed by Chris Smith (Bluemark Productions)

by

Michael Ruppert lives in a world where the end is always just around the corner. Over the course of the documentary (and what seems like 300 cigarettes) Ruppert explains that oil production has peaked and the world as we know it will soon cease to exist. It’s easy to get swept up in Ruppert’s dystopic worldview, but just when things begin to seem wildly hopeless documentarian Chris Smith cuts in with his own questions, bringing both Ruppert and the audience back to earth. For a film that is nothing more than a guy in a warehouse and some stock footage, it’s a gripping watch.
