Dinner music

Musicians For Farmers

Popular consensus is that we wouldn't have music without musicians and we wouldn't have food without farmers, so this Saturday, November 3, Musicians For Farmers is going to create a perfect pairing of food and music. I picture the North Street Church as in a drawing from one of those Christian handouts, where they imagine a heavenly utopia with a little kid feeding a panther with his bare hands. It's a benefit for EAC-affiliate Heliotrust www.heliotrust.ca, an organization working for farmland conservation, biodiversity and sustainable farming practices and conserving and imparting rural wisdom.

The evening includes supper by Terroir Local Source Catering (BYO cutlery and cups), speakers, performances by The Raging Grannies, Picnicface, The Smokin' Contraband, John Dalton and Friends, Oh Dinah, Michael Peter Schimp, Geoff Kennedy and Niki Veltmeyer, a vegetable puppet show (this will be worth it alone) and more: All ages, 6pm, $15 (includes food!). Farmers get in free.

Rub the troll’s belly and send your good luck news to scene@thecoast.ca.
