Vancouver's indie power-pop-rock quintet Mother Mother will hit the end of a coast-to-coast road this Friday at the Paragon Theatre. The band's frontman/producer Ryan Guldemond says the cross-country trek is nothing new, but it's still a great experience. "This is familiar turf for us, but coming off the heels of a new release gives it a refreshing sense of newness." Guldemond's talking about Mother Mother's latest effort, the ever-punchy Eureka. The album is more rock-driven than the band's previous two releases, but it maintains the vibrant three-part harmonies and quirky upbeat sound that have become Mother Mother staples. Guldemond says new tunes like "Problems" and "The Stand" are jammed with "life and energy" and have become real crowd-pleasers to watch out for. With Friday's show being the last hurrah of a long tour, expect Mother Mother to come out with tons of energy and guns-a-blazin'.

Fri April 22, Paragon Theatre, 2037 Gottingen St, $17.50/ $22.50, 9pm
