Evie Rae Dunville: Words Escape Me

When: Nov. 30-Dec. 5 2009

Evie Dunville's graduation exhibition intertwines the written word with her jewellery, creating "a body of work wherein the form is either emphasized, accented or accentuated by the words," writes Dunville. A necklace she includes in the show, titled "Boy," physically layers the words of a poem, etched in varying sizes of dog-tag-like pieces of metal, resulting in a silver and blue heap of words hanging from the wearer's neck. Neckpieces dominate Dunville's collection, using copper, cords and fabrics to mix up the textures, but there are a few little pieces worth checking out. It's Dunville's first solo show, and you can meet her at the reception Monday, November 30 at 5:30pm. –Holly Gordon
