Remarks: NS Power says a complaint is usually registered and a crew is sent to determine whose pole it is. If it’s Aliant’s, NSP lets them know. It’s sweet how the companies keep each other in the loop, but one wonders if complaints get lost in the shuffle. An Aliant service representative says when either company decides to replace a pole, it’s common practice to leave the top four-foot section of the old pole attached to the lines, adding it takes over 1,000 pounds of pressure to break the lines. OK, if you say so. Despite this, the rep “wouldn’t recommend walking underneath it” and thanks us for being caring citizens and looking out for others. Now we’re talking! Mad propers!
Who's Responsible?: Depending on who owns the pole, it could be Aliant (611 for repairs) or Nova Scotia Power (428-6230).
