Frances Dorsey, Foundation and Textiles instructor at NASCAD, says this collection is the fruit of ideas she's been reflecting on for decades, like how colour evokes emotion in a way words never could.
Sharing galleries 2 and 3 with Dorsey is Robin Muller, offering many of the works he created over his 36-year career instructing at NASCAD. He explains that much of his weaving was inspired by Peruvian openwork weaving and quilts, and that he creates narratives by adding photographic elements to textile works.
Get to know the work even better by attending the grand opening July 11 between 5:30-7pm or by going to the artists' talk at 12pm on July 13.
