Gloria McCluskey is, has always been and always will be, well, Gloria McCluskely. A force unto herself, McCluskey has come to define Dartmouth Centre, for better and for worse. The "better" is really decent representation, and making sure Dartmouth isn't completely subsumed into HRM, just another nameless neighbourhood. The "worse" is an over-the-top defensiveness, a jealousy of Halifax.
Since the election, McCluskey has two successes: She has staved off a bureaucratic change in how a committee that monitors Dartmouth's lakes is staffed, and she has gotten late-night ferry service reinstated, more civic vanity than anything, but it's a score nonetheless.
