GoldenEye 007

Nintendo Wii (ACTIVISION)

GoldenEye 007 is a revisiting of the first person shooter that started it all. GoldenEye for the N64 has a special place in many gamers’ hearts, but this re-imagining comes up short. The game is quite different than the original---it keeps some of the same motifs from its predecessor, but this is a complete retrofit. It doesn’t feel like GoldenEye. The single player is good, but due to limitations of the Wii console you will notice drops in frame rate. The shooting is precise with the Wii remote, but if you want to use control sticks you’re going to need the Classic Controller Pro. Multiplayer is well-excuted for the most part with lots of different modes and maps. It's fun to rise through the ranks. However, it doesn’t feel like Bond, it’s like Call of Duty lite.
