Halifax loves Stickler Chocolates

San Francisco chocolate-makers relocate to Maynard Street

Trevor Curwin and Miriam Stickler have relocated from San Francisco to Halifax, bringing with them artisanal chocolates: Stickler Chocolates (, 999-7484), are made out of their new north end home by chocolatier Stickler, who learned her craft in New York and San Francisco. Her handmade batches of filled chocolates, buttery sea salt caramels, and more chocolatey delights are now available at the Seaport Farmers Market every Saturday and Sunday, and according to Curwin, you should get there early so as not to miss your favourite selections. Chocolate demand has been high!

Stickler makes her chocolates fresh each week, using organic cream and local ingredients such as Java Blend coffee and Tea Brewery teas. And for Father's Day (Sunday, June 21) she'll be creating a special dad-friendly chocolate infused with single malt whiskey from Cape Breton's Glenora distillery.

Prices run from $1.75/pc, $6.25 for a box of four and $12.50 for a box of eight.
