Halifax Suitcase Festival

When: May 6-8 2011

The First annual Halifax Suitcase Festival offers a lineup of original shows that pack light and are ready to hit the road. The lineup looks like this: Thursday May 5th 6:30pm The Last Words Duct Shultz A comedic multimedia one-man performance starring Thaddius Hatte. Followed by a special 10 minute concert. 8pm Epic Pitch A story of heartbreak and journey by Mikaela Dyke. 9:30pm Cabaret with Ann Marie Kerr, Susanne Chui, Brianna Moore with music by Doug Cameron and friends. Friday May 6th 6:30pm Vitorio other works Inspired by Veronique Mackenzie's childhood time at the National Ballet Vitorio follows and aging ballet self-proclaimed legend. Other works include Stick Man and Resistance is Futile. 8 pm Listless Faced with the terrifying reality of the rest of his life Lewis Wynne-Jones searches for present answers within a framework of the past. Followed by a special perfomance by Lohifi Productions 9:30 pm Cabaret with Shawn Duggan and Kathryn McCormack, Matt Peach and Petra O'Toole, Rosemary Reid, Brian Riley, Anne Davison, Ryan Doucette with music by Jeff Torbert and friends. Saturday May 7th 6:30 pm Take It With You A kooky, crazy performance from local favorite DaPoPo Theatre. 8 pm This is Violet Courtney Seibring stars in a solo tragicomedy about a woman stuck in bed. One Day in the Life of Mr. N An "experimental mono spectacle" starring Igor Vlasichev. Sunday May 8th 11-1:30pm Suitcase Festival Brunch
