Special Event

Halifax Zine Fair

When: Sat., Oct. 24, 12-5 p.m. 2009

In your downtime at the Pop Explosion, support the local small press scene and pick up some zines, comics, records and more. With zine fairs accompanying May's Obey Convention and August's Sappyfest, this isn't the only zine-buying opportunity around any more, but it's the oldest and the biggest. A special guest will be zine hero Alex Wrekk from Portland, Oregon, author of zine how-to guide Stolen Sharpie Revolution, which has sold enough copies to please any press small or large. Also check out Anchor Archive's audio zine listening booth, a t-shirt printing station and the "Confession Concession" booth. At Saint David's Church, behind the Spring Garden Road Central Library. –Laura Kenins
