Record Store Day, celebrated internationally on the third Saturday in April, still remains important to music lovers and makers in Halifax; for some, it's the most wonderful time of the year. April 16 marks the fourth annual RSD, where independently owned record shops unite to honour the art of music and the people who create it. TAZ and Obsolete Records are dedicating April 16 to music, with performances by local musicians and the release of limited edition LPs. Live music all day at TAZ includes performances by Ruth Minnikin, Ronok Sarkar, No Flyers Please, Norma MacDonald, Ceti Alpha, Jeff Gay, Andy McDaniel and Jonathan Andrews. Starting at 1pm at Obsolete Records are performances by Cursed Arrows, Dance Movie, Kestrels' Chad Peck and Trevor Murphy from Quiet Parade. If that's not enough to get you out, TAZ is offering a buy-two-get-one-free deal on second-hand vinyl.

Saturday April 16, Taz Records, 1593 Market Street, 422-5976

Obsolete Records, 2454 Agricola Street, 407-7228
